A Garden's Progress...

Ho hum...she's moving right along. The blooms and buds are leaving me speechless and boasting with delight. Hope you enjoy a little walk through my garden...

Here is my Crepe Myrtle tree. I planted this late last summer and neglected her a bit. I was nervous she may have been a goner. But she's a-bloomin'!

A Mother's Love

So today I stopped to see a friend. She happens to also be my jeweler. She was always fascinated by my two daughters. She could never imagine having girls, as she is the tired but proud mother of three boys. As we were speaking of our children, as fellow moms do, she said

'Oh! I have to tell you this story about Petey (her youngest son)...'

I settled in with anticipation.

(This is what I wanted to share with you.)

"Yesterday was Petey's tenth birthday", she said. "He came to me and asked me to make three of his favorite things for dinner. With delight, I obliged. So then, around bedtime, Petey quietly whispered,

'I think I need to sleep with my Dad tonight'.

(yes, I know -- HOW CUTE?!)

As my friend Sylvia went in to kiss her husband, Peter, and her newly 10 year old son, Petey goodnight, she found him gripping onto his father's finger as he did when he was a baby.

I thought to myself -- as I held back my tears...

It's all worth it!
